If you want some art pieces, sometimes you have to get a little creative. For paintings, consider thrift stores, garage sales and friends! Remember, when you go to thrift stores and garage sales, if you can’t find a piece that already looks good, buy it anyway and simply paint over it or insert artistic friend here.
Ask your artsy friend to paint you something–give them colors and themes that you are looking for. If you need more inspiration do some Google image searches. Think about buying or making shadow boxes and putting some items you already own in them. Also, You can frame and display kids artwork, using various items, including clipboards or clothespins.
Don’t forget about nature…a free resource. Collect some sticks, branches, driftwood or logs for some art with texture. You can paint them or just arrange them in a cool way.
Art does not just have to be on the walls, consider art in the round. Using everyday items as art. Pick out some interesting flea market finds and create a little vignette that adds a punch to your decor.
