Desire, time, and patience. These are the basic three things needed to realize the dream of a painted floor. Painting/staining/stenciling your floor is a great way to add a custom and expensive look to any area of a home. Well, I do have the desire to paint our patio floor and I think I have the patience, but I definitely don’t have time at the moment, so this is a great opportunity to see some ideas for future reference. And since it is springtime, everyone is beginning to spend more time outdoors and do more projects, why not get some inspiration on floors that evoke excitement and surprise.  This first example of a solid color painted floor is quite lovely and done in a timeless turquoise that is so versatile, I can see it going with many different styles of decorating.

This stenciled floor reminds me of a beautiful tiled floor!

And then there was stenciling…painting and stenciling or adding a pattern to the floor which is what I want to do and it is a wonderful custom look that adds extra elegance to any space.  This photo above has the look of a Spanish tiled floor which can lend itself as a great accent and conversation piece.
