Mini Side Yard Before & After!
It feels good to finish portions of your “to-do” list and I finally finished this mini side yard. I had acquired a little extra spending money and I put it to good use so that I could feel a little better about an eyesore in our yard. Here is the before from like 2 years ago:

Before

Very, very sad
.
I actually like the “vine-age” on the chain link fence (to cover the fact that I have a chain link fence), but in front of that is dead grass and fully alive weeds. The weeds were also growing in between the cracks in the cement of course and this is just after a few weeks of no maintenance…..oh Florida summers!
.
Below is a step in the right direction and I will be even happier when the vines on the fence grow in even more and all the plants that I purchased get a bit fuller as well….here it is now:

After

Neat and Tidy
.
I bought the Liriope, Red Fountain Grass, and the Gardenia, everything else I already had and I re-planted in that location. That area is kind of like a rescue sanctuary for abandoned/neglected plants. I actually have one more plant in my backyard that I need to squeeze in there, it had been mowed over (by my husband) and I thought it was dead, I thought it didn’t have a future…..but “nature finds a way (Jurassic Park).” So, I will be digging her up and giving her a new home where she can grow freely without constant threat from the blade ;)
.

My neglected aloes and cactus now have a new home

Already had 4 bags of rocks from a previous project....score!
I also planted clippings from my Mexican Petunias and Purple Hearts along the narrow fence area in hopes that they will create small clusters that I can enjoy for seasons to come! Have a great weekend!

Serenity Now ;)
