After three years and lots of budgeting, we are finally at a point with our kitchen where I feel good enough about it to show you some photos!  I hope to release a cost estimate within the next couple of weeks, so you can get an idea of the expenses for your own kitchen facelifts ;)  Ultimately this is a rental kitchen, so I’m doing what I like with what I have and I hope you can do the same!

Where are my “Before Kitchen Photos?”

Well here are some “semi-before” shots….the kitchen was gutted before I had the thought to take photos, so these photos happened after fridge re-arranging, wall addition and some Ikea Kitchen furniture purchasing (Ikea kitchen furnishings provided by our wonderful landlords):

Thanks for stopping by!

It looks great!! I’m stealing several ideas and I want to know where you purchase the butcher block. I’ve been looking for something like that for a while.

Thanks AnnMarie ;) I bought the butcher block at Ikea….the name of it is Lamplig. I use it upside down FYI (if you go on Ikea website it is rightside up) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30087148/

    Hi Barbara and Stephie,
I ordered the rug off of Overstock.com…..Here is the link: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Handmade-Jute-Casual-Berna-Rug-26-x-76/3526062/product.html?CID=208011
The color I ordered was grey (it is a dark grey) and then I painted the white checkered pattern on it. I have a tutorial on how I did it here:

I hope this helps, thanks for visiting ;)
