A sign of hope

One of my favorite parts of gardening is when the little plant shoots form!  I was nervous about planting bulbs simply because I had never done it before.  I have wanted to grow flowers for some time now and I saw these Gladioli bulbs at Home Depot and thought I would give it a try.  As a novice gardener, I went online and did some brief research on planting and to see if I was doing it right and whether there were extra tips that I should know about.

Well, the number one tip that I was trying to remember and totally forgot about when I planted, was to space out the planting of the bulbs.  They suggested about every two weeks, plant some new bulbs so that you can have a continuous flow of beautiful flowers.  Of course I got too excited and planted them all at the same time!!!  It will all work out in the end because I will be giving away some wonderful bouquets when the time comes ;)  Anyway, the top photo is of my little shoots that are growing as we speak and the other photos I found online to give you an idea of what the bulbs and mature flowers look like….you should plant some bulbs today!
