It was a lovely and brisk New Year’s Eve of the year 2012; things were looking up for the group of young, 20 something’s who made it out to the beach on Florida’s east coast. They were delighted to find other groups of people like themselves, along with many a bond fire….Long story short, we found a new way to take photographs with your smart phone camera in dark, seemingly hopeless situations ;)
Here’s the tip: Instead of using the flash feature with your camera, make sure you have a second person with you (who also has a smart phone) and have them open/download the “flashlight” app. Have one person point the “flashlight” at the subject, while the another person takes the picture. Voila! If there’s only two of you, the person who is taking the photo can also hold the second phone as well ; )
Look at the following examples:

**Make sure to move the “flashlight” around to get the best angle of light for your subject. Play around with it, take a few shots and I’m sure you’ll get one that looks awesome!!
