Previously, I’ve sat down “illegally” outside Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen in Winter Park a handful of times. I say “illegally,” because those tables and chairs next to the pretty fountain in that little hideaway nook are technically for customers to enjoy. I’ve always loved secret spaces nestled away from the crowd and that’s why I’d been drawn to that spot many a time. Well, I finally made my way inside Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen for a monthly Central Florida Lady Bloggers Meetup and I was overjoyed!
Not only did they have a classically gorgeous interior with White marble counters, elegant wainscoting and beautiful lights; they have a great mission paired with fabulous food and drink. We learned about the culture of Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen from the President and CEO, Jonathan Smiga. The exciting thing I took away from his presentation was their desire to step away from a rushing, thoughtless, fast-food mentality and have a place where you can take time to savor what you’re drinking and eating and enjoy who you’re sharing these moments with.
Over 40 types of coffee available daily, brewed to order
Coffee beans are roasted in house
Fresh from farm seasonal, local ingredients for their food
Beer and Wine is available
Breakfast and Lunch is available 7 days a week, with a Brunch menu on Sunday
A great dinner experience on Friday and Saturday night
We each got a goodie bag at the end of the night, which I gave away; but I heard great things about the Pronto Liquid Brew Sticks!
In short, if you need to get out of the rat race for awhile (or forever), take some time to visit Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen. And if you don’t live in Orlando, go to their website to experience something new. I will definitely returning there and this time I’ll sip on a Chai Tea Latte while I enjoy my favorite hideaway nook with the trickling fountain.
